Aside from the four full-time directors (who draw a part-time wage) all of our crew are volunteers.

There's a great atmosphere in the cafe and you'll find working here is a great way to be part of The Art House - we like our volunteers to flourish!

Being part of a great crew, meeting new people and dealing with customers are just some of the skills you’ll have the opportunity to develop. Some people prefer to work in the kitchen, helping prepare food, others like to serve in the café. As volunteers settle in, there are other opportunities to use your skills too - from window dressing to admin help.

Volunteer Application process

Please visit us first! We always advise this, as it is necessary to understand the nature of the organisation you will be working in. We also need potential volunteers to fill in an application form by picking up a paper copy available in the cafe during opening hours.
